    Jamie Rae, Founder and Chair

    Jamie was diagnosed with Oropharyngeal Cancer in May 2010. Alarmed and concerned by the lack of information about the causes, treatment and prevention of these diseases, Jamie was driven to set up the Throat Cancer Foundation.

    A graduate of the University of London, Professor Christopher Nutting is one of UK's leading oncologists and joins our consultant team after overseeing the treatment of the founder Jamie Rae for Oropharyngeal Cancer in 2010.

    Professor Simon Rogers has been Consultant Maxillofacial Surgeon at the University Hospital Aintree since January 1999. He lends his support to us with a particular focus on improving health-related quality of life (HRQOL) for throat cancer patients.

    Professor Margaret Stanley OBE is Professor of Epithelial Biology in the Department of Pathology at the University of Cambridge and and has been advising the Throat Cancer Foundation since the charity was founded.

    Professor Hisham Mehanna is Director of the Institute of Head and Neck Studies and Education. He is also Chair of Head and Neck Surgery at the University of Birmingham and the UK’s National Cancer Research Institute's Head and Neck Group.
