In an inspiring act of courage and determination, a grandfather and his grandson took on a thrilling skydive to raise funds for the Throat Cancer Foundation. This extraordinary challenge was undertaken by Louis, who is marking his 16th birthday with a leap from the skies, alongside his grandfather, Karl who has been battling throat cancer for several years.

The family has been deeply affected by the disease, with their beloved father and grandfather being diagnosed twice. While he continues to fight the illness, his resilience and unwavering positivity have inspired those around him. It is this courageous spirit that led Louis to take on the skydiving challenge—not just as a personal milestone but as a meaningful way to support a cause close to their hearts.
True to his nature, the grandfather couldn’t simply watch from the sidelines. Instead, he has decided to join his grandson in the daring jump, turning the event into a powerful symbol of strength, love, and determination.
The pair has set a combined initial fundraising target of £900, with each aiming to raise £450 for the Throat Cancer Foundation. However, they have smashed that and raised an astonishing £2,250 (and with GiftAid, this rises to £2,740). The charity plays a crucial role in supporting individuals and families affected by throat cancer, funding research, and raising awareness.
Supporters can still contribute to their JustGiving page, with every donation helping them reach their goal and make a meaningful impact. The family will be sharing updates and photos of the event for those unable to attend in person.
This heartwarming story is a testament to the power of resilience and community support. As they took on their jump, they hope to inspire others to support the cause and make a difference in the fight against throat cancer.
