It seems I have entered the injury zone. This is a period of time that I knew would come, I just didn’t know when. It was all going so well until I finished a 7.19 mile run on Sunday. Granted, this is the furthest distance I have reached, but it’s really taken its toll on my legs.
As the day progressed I could feel a twinge in my hip getting worse, it’s Tuesday today and I can still feel it. I’ve told myself to have a couple of days off because I don’t want to cause further damage, but its a difficult decision when I only have a month left until my half marathon. I know this is the right thing to do but I am eager to get back on the roads as I don’t want to regress.
However, I’m trying to look at Sunday as a good day because I extended my distance even further. This means I have now run a quarter of the marathon, I can’t believe I’ve even made it this far.
Anyway, it looks like it’s going to be a a week of rest for me with maybe a little run thrown in somewhere. So, until my next post wish me luck with a speedy recovery!
