What is throat cancer?

In medical terms, there is no such thing as ‘throat cancer’. Rather there are several different types of cancer which can affect the throat, mouth, neck and chest.

We have chosen to use the general term throat cancer because patients and even some doctors will refer to ‘throat cancer’ rather than more specific cancer types.
