The Mhairi Hogg School of Dancing, based in South West Edinburgh, has generously raised and donated £200 to The Throat Cancer Foundation. This donation was part of a wider fundraising effort at the school’s recent dance show held at the Church Hill Theatre in Edinburgh, where funds were raised in support of cancer charities.
Founded in 1991, the Mhairi Hogg School of Dancing has been nurturing a love of dance in a fun and friendly environment for over three decades. The school offers classes in Tap, Modern, and Highland dance, and proudly presents its students for BATD (British Association of Teachers of Dancing) exams. Beyond exams, pupils regularly showcase their talents at dance shows and community events.
One of the school’s standout achievements came last summer when their dancers successfully auditioned for the Disneyland Paris Performing Arts programme. The group performed a dynamic, non-stop 20-minute showcase combining Highland, Tap, and Modern dance on stage at Disneyland Paris — an unforgettable experience for everyone involved.
“We’re so proud of our dancers, not only for their dedication to dance but also for their generosity and community spirit,” said a spokesperson for the school. “It’s a pleasure to support The Throat Cancer Foundation and contribute to the important work they do.”
