The Famous Five take on the Yorkshire Three Peaks Challenge, after all affected in some way by throat cancer

A group of five determined individuals—Jude, Ethan, Jayden, Michael, and Jack—are taking on the Yorkshire Three Peaks Challenge. Their mission? To complete the grueling 24-mile (38.6 km) trek in under 12 hours, all in support of the Throat Cancer Foundation. While this may seem like an ambitious feat given their experience as a group, they believe that a challenge of this magnitude is fitting for such an important cause.

What is the Yorkshire Three Peaks Challenge?

The Yorkshire Three Peaks Challenge is a circular route encompassing three major peaks in the Yorkshire Dales: Pen-Y-Ghent, Whernside, and Ingleborough. This challenge is not just about endurance; it’s about teamwork, perseverance, and pushing limits for something bigger than themselves.

Why Are They Doing This?

Cancer has affected their lives in deeply personal ways. For Ethan and Jude, the fight against cancer became personal when their grandad was diagnosed last year. They firmly believe that cancer can be stopped, and through fundraising, they can help support those fighting it while working toward better treatments and awareness.

For Michael and Jayden, father and son, the cause resonates just as deeply. Michael’s dad, Jayden’s grandad lost his life to the disease.  Jayden’s great granddad fought throat cancer and won, but others in his family were not as fortunate.  So losing his grandad and another great grandad to cancer has fueled his determination to raise awareness and funds to combat this relentless disease.

Together, they are united in their goal: to make a difference, one step at a time.
