Megan’s first ever marathon training blog continues (Week 2)

Hello, me again. Week two of the blog and I’ve managed to run a little bit further. On Sunday, I ran 3.6 miles in Hyde Park, which is about 6k – I’m pretty chuffed! This is of course, all down to my training programme which I am trying my best to stick to. I was slightly apprehensive about this run as a 20-minute run on the treadmill earlier on in the week had caused my calves a lot of pain but having two rest days hugely helped.

This week I also purchased a book to help give me some inspiration. It’s called Jog On – How Running Saved My Life, by Bella Mackie. The main plot is how running helped Bella overcome a tricky time in her life. I’m only a couple of chapters in and I’m hooked. I’m feeling rather hopeful that the escapism running gave her can help me through some difficult runs in the near future.

Anyway, that’s it for me this week. I have a few social occasions coming up over the next few days, so wish me luck in cutting back on my usual consumption of G&T’s.
