On the 15th of January 2023, David ‘Bod’ Bodimeade sadly passed away from a throat cancer, with his beloved wife, Debbie and wonderful daughter, Becky at his bedside holding his hands.

One of David’s many passions were golf. He played regularly at the Searles Course, Hunstanton in Norfolk. A place he loved to be and where he had many friends who remembered him fondly.
The place meant so much to him. With this in mind family and friends decided to put a lovely wooden bench on the course, in memory of ‘Bod’. A lovely touch. Now Debbie, Becky and all David’s four grandchildren and of course friends can come and sit, remember him fondly and imagine him chipping a 9 iron.
Last year the family and friends of David held a memorial golf day in honour of him and raised an amazing £1,176 for the Throat Cancer Foundation.
This year, they have decided to do it again and have established ‘The David Bodimeade Memorial Shield’ event on the 21st of September at his favourite course. Full details below. If you live in the area, please come along and support the event.
